Our Stroller Review

We give this stroller a rating of 4 / 5 stars based on our 7 critierias of what makes a great stroller. Read on to see why this stroller will suit your lifestyle and see
what's included.

Travel convenience:  A 3-wheel stroller is best when the front wheel swivels 360 degrees with an option to lock in place.  That way when you are in the city in tight spaces you can maneuver anywhere easily without having to lift up your entire stroller just to turn.  When it's time to take your jogging stroller to the trail or for a run just lock the front wheel for the steering to be locked in place for safety.  (Note: the Bumbleride Indie Stroller is intended for light jogging only, for intense jogging see BOB Sport Utlity Jogging Strollers or Baby Jogger Jogging Strollers)

As for the folding, view the video to see how it's used and it's compact dimensions are 32" L x 24.5" W x 15" H  with a weight of only 20 lbs compared to the BOB's Revolution Jogging Stroller at 23 lbs.

Safety:  For the safety of the baby in a jogging stroller it's all about the materials and the safety harness.  Not only does the Bumbleride Indie Stroller include a quick release 5-point safety harnesses, an infant headrest and shoulder pads are added for your baby's comfort and security.

As for the materials of the stroller, the chassis is made of lightweight anodized aluminum.  It is the best material to use for a jogging stroller because it's light and durable at the same time.

We would like to point out that since the tires are all 12"s, it does not give you as much stability as larger rear wheels would.  Compared to the BOB's Revolution Jogging Stroller 16" rear wheels, it's still good enough for paved roads and the running track and helps you save some space in your trunk or closet.  Most importantly you need to think about what you will be using the stroller for and then make your decision on what type of wheels you will need.  Overall it is still a safe stroller to use for a jog because of the optional fixed front wheel to keep the stroller from swerving while running.

Note:  The Bumbleride Indie Stroller is suitable for newborns, but we recommend 6 months of age if you are going jogging with the stroller.

Mobility:   Any parent would appreciate swivel wheels on a stroller that rotates 360 degrees with an option to lock in place.  Many jogging strollers on the market comes with a fixed front wheel, which is great for jogging on a dirt trail cause it gives you superb control in steering your stroller to go straight, but try turning around in a grocery store!  For parents who would like to bring their stroller to wherever they go, the Bumbleride Indie Stroller is a great option for it's size compared to BOB's Revolution Jogging Stroller.

As for the wheels, the slim 12" air inflated tires helps make the ride smoother and easier to push than never flat tires like the Contours Strollers.  Although you may have to fill the tires up yourself regularly (air-pump included) you won't have to worry a bumpy ride over small rocks and unsmooth roads.

Durability:  The materials of the stroller whether it's the frame or fabric is a big purchase consideration for parents when it comes to their baby.  Two biggest considerations are the material of the chassis and the seat.  So it's good to know that the chassis is made of lightweight anodized aluminum, and the seat is removable and machine washable.  Both materials are of the highest quality to make your Bumbleride Indie Stroller durable and easy to use.

What parents will love:  When it comes to choosing a jogging stroller it all comes down to whether it's looks and functions matches to your preferences and expectations.  The Bumbleride Indie Stroller look compared to the BOB Jogging Strollers is more modern and stylish with bright colors to choose from.  It also has an adjustable handle height from 32”- 45” that the BOB Jogging Strollers do not have.  One of the main reasons why BOB does not have this option is that they are hardcore running strollers made to go on rugged terrain mainly, so they don't have an adjustable handle for safety reasons.  Whereas the Bumbleride Indie Stroller is more of a well-rounded stroller that is great in the city indoors and out (with 360 degrees front swivel wheel) and when you do want to take it to a trail it is also well equipped to do so (with locked front wheel for safety).

As for usage wise, the Bumbleride Indie Stroller is it has a viewing window and a zip off option when you want to save some room.  Plus the shopping basket underneath has a 12 lb capacity to place all your baby's necessities and shopping storage.  Did we mention that it also comes with a footmuff, cupholder, bumper bar and an air pump?  None of the other strollers we have reviewed so far comes with a footmuff at all and the only other stroller that comes with a cup holder is Contours Strollers.

The Bumbleride Indie Stroller is suitable for newborns upto a maximum weight of 45 lbs, so it's good to know that the stroller is compatible with 8 different car seats.  When your baby is fast asleep in the car, the last thing you want to do is to wake them up to place them in a stroller.  Just simply place the car seat into the stroller as seen below and with the extra canopy on the stroller, your baby will be well covered from harmful UV rays.

Compatible with the following car seats: Graco Safe Seat, Graco Snug Ride, Britax Companion, Peg Perego Primo Viaggio, Combi Center, Chicco Key Fit, Baby Trend Flex-Loc, Maxi Cosi

What your baby will love:  Your baby will enjoy the four position reclining seat and you will be glad the seat material is removable for machine washing.  It's seat width is 24.5" for your baby to have lots of room to grow up with and the adjustable canopy gives complete sun coverage protecting your baby from harmful UV rays.

What we don't love so much:  When it comes to the suspension of the stroller we think that the BOB Jogging Strollers are equipped with better materials to go over rugged terrain.  But if you do not go on dirt trails with your stroller then the Bumbleride Indie Stroller is just as good a stroller to go for nice walks and to go for a run on the running track or paved roads.  Why you would choose the Bumbleride Indie Stroller over the BOB Jogging Strollers is all the accessories you will rave about that is included with the stroller.  And although Bugaboo Strollers are not jogging strollers you can also compare their famous "frog like" suspension wheels as well as Bumbleride Flyer Stroller's front and back suspension wheels.

Bugaboo Cameleon Adjustable Suspension

Bugaboo Cameleon adjustable suspension

As for weight capacity, the Bumbleride Indie Stroller has a maximum weight of only 45 lbs whereas the BOB Jogging Strollers of 70 lbs.  But at least we found the Bumbleride Queen B Stroller has a weight capacity of 65 lbs and it has an optional toddler seat you can attach to your stroller to seat for 2!  So you really need to see what works for your lifestyle, how long you want to use the stroller for your baby.

Overall we think the Bumbleride Indie Stroller has the most features out of the all the other Bumbleride Strollers, but compared to the two older models (the Bumbleride Queen B Stroller and the Bumbleride Flyer Stroller) it does not have a reversible seat for your baby to face you or the world, but we guess that it's a sacrifice to make if you are getting a jogging stroller and your baby will probably enjoy the breeze facing forward while your running anyways.
