The InSTEP Suburban Safari Jogging Stroller

Our Stroller Review

We give this stroller a full rating of 4 / 5 stars based on our 7 critierias of what makes a great stroller.  Read on to see why this stroller will suit your lifestyle and see
what's included.

Travel convenience:  Very similar to the BOB Revolution Jogging Stroller but half the price.  It has the exact features of a front 12" swivel wheel to go on jogging or shopping mode.  The swivel wheel helps you twist and turn indoors much better than a fixed front wheel, and the fixed wheel mode gives you stability when running.  Although we think that the BOB Revolution Jogging Stroller is a better choice to choose between the two, the InSTEP Suburban Safari Jogging Stroller is a very close second runner up.  With the economy these days, saving half the price and getting a just as good product is definitely a consideration.  It even comes with 16" rear wheels for stability and suspension when running.  One thing that the InSTEP Suburban Safari Jogging Stroller stands out on is it's ability to be in an upright position when folded.

And although the Mia Moda Energi Stroller is not for jogging use, what really catches our eye is that the front swivel wheel is lockable at the handlebar rather than going down to the wheel to switch it to fixed mode like InSTEP and BOB Jogging Strollers.

Safety:  With a 5-point harness, your baby is placed securely in your jogging stroller.  With a stroller that is designed for use outdoors, it's best to know that the materials used to build the stroller is most durable and lightweight there is in the market.  And since the front wheel can be locked, going for long walks would allow the stroller to easily go straight without steering to the side of the sidewalk.

Mobility:  The best stroller that is availabe these days designed for in and outdoors would be a three wheel stroller with a front swivel wheel.  Since this jogging stroller is made with lightweight materials, it's easy to push and store the stroller away.  Nobody wants a heavy stroller to push around all day and have a piece of heavy metal to lug around all day.  Maximum weight capacity for this jogging stroller is 50 lbs and the stroller weight is 28 lbs, so potentially you will be pushing against 80 lbs!  Be glad to know that the wheels are well built and move very well.

Durability:  Lightweight aluminum is the most durable material strollers are built on, they last a long time and they don't get damaged very easily.  Although it does not have a removable seat pad like the InSTEP Safari Jogging Stroller, a good wipe at the end of the day will help keep you stroller clean and germ free.  Plus it sits in a standing position to help keep the stroller away from dust and dirt on the ground.

What parents will love:  Parents will love the fact that only this model comes with a mesh bug screen to keep your baby free from bug bites and dust!  Most other strollers on the market would require a separate purchase of at least $50, but with the already good value price InSTEP Strollers comes with it's nice to know that they are throwing this product in as well with your jogging stroller.

Note that the the InSTEP Suburban Safari Jogging Stroller has three 12" wheels whereas the InSTEP Safari Jogging Stroller has two 16" rear wheels and a front 12" wheel.  The suburban is a good choice for parents who would like to save a little room when travelling and for storing the stroller away in the trunk of your car or the closet in your home.

And finally, this is a good value stroller to use one single stroller to run errands indoors and to use it for a good healthy excercise outdoors.  The price is good for starting families and the quality of the stroller is just as good as the brand names like BOB Jogging Strollers.

What your baby will love:  Your baby will enjoy the comfortable seating area in the stroller and will be nicely occupied with their snack tray.  Whether they are configuring their cheerios or stacking their toys on the tray, at least they are getting fresh air outside with their parents.  They can start using the stroller at a young age of just 3 months till they reach upto a weight of 50 lbs.  However, if you do plan to go jogging with the stroller we recommend a minimum age of 8 months for safety reasons.

What we don't love so much:  We would like to see that this stroller had a removable seat pad like the InSTEP Safari Jogging Stroller, that way parents can keep the stroller at it's cleanest condition.  So if you really need to save space, then we recommend this model.  If not, we think that the InSTEP Safari Jogging Stroller is a better option.  It's a bit more in price but we think it's well worth it in the long run.
