Maclaren in
One Minute
It
all started with aeronautical engineer
and designer, Owen Maclaren.
In
1965, he designed and patented the first
prototype Baby Buggy - the
B-01.
The B-01 was designed
to be durable, lightweight and safe
through the use of materials like
tubular aluminium.
The
buggy weighed only about 6lbs, and can
be stored like an
umbrella.
This
became an immediate hit with parents who
were struggling with the traditional
baby prams.
Today, the
Maclaren line of strollers are the
descendants of B-01.
While
the concept of safety and durability
never changes, the exterior designs have
certainly changed over the years to more
attractive and modern colors.
